Entries for the First New Zealand Haiku/senryu contest should be sent to the editors by December 31 2003. $5NZ entry free for unlimited entries. The three best receive a sub to Kokako and SPIN worth $20 and the best 20 will be included in Kokako 2004. Only NZ residents and ex-patriates are eligible. Entries should be unpublished and not on offer elsewhere.


SPECIAL SECTION 2004 will be auditory haiku, haiku in which sound is an important element. Submissions welcome from readers, subscribers and others.


KOKAKO 2003 contains work by 61 poets from ten countries. It features tanka, with an introduction by Tony Beyer.
